Vertex is the maiden ICO aftermarket platform. It gives investors the opportunity to gain exposure to ICO projects that have been vetted and verified by a veteran Vertex team while at the same time buoying the ICO market with capital. Investors are offered ICO tokens on a decentralized platform during a sweet spot prior to the token gaining exchange listsings.
Not only that but Verex promises to provide a platform on which investors are no longer blocked and can gain access to ICOs that have otherwise been “sold out” at “preferential prices.” The ecosystem is fueled by the VTEX token.
Vertex envisions a world in which investors gain “strong opportunities to get returns and bring more fiat resources into cryptocurrency markets.” ICO companies, meanwhile, gain the backing of the Vertex community and exposure to ICO investors on the platform. By focusing on quality token sales, Vertex is aiming to remove the stigma attached to a market that has been plagued by under-performing tokens in addition to failing and scam projects.
Vertex Captial, which is a private cryptocurrency management firm comprised of clients who are wealthy individuals, kicks things off by backing ICOs with more than one-third of ICO investments made in Vertex’s native token, VRTX. Vertex Capital’s clients “own Vertex tokens” and at least half of their holdings will be directed into ICOs on the Vertex platform, providing liquidity to the platform in the process.
The experienced Vertex team performs due diligence on ICOs that are coming to market and “buys into the ones it deems most likely to succeed.” In fact, much of the work on the Vertex platform is done throughout the ICO vetting process, which the company has engaged a team of partners for, including seed-round and angel investors. The team meets face-to-face with ICO project management officials as well as performs background checks on them, doing so from the lens of veteran investor experience.
Vertex operates by a set of “investment conditions” that it delivers to ICO projects interested in being on the platform. These conditions include “discounts on the purchase of tokens,” savings that are then delivered to investors. There’s also “a requirement for the ICO to take part of the payment denominated in Vertex tokens.” The ICOs that make the cut are then presented to the Vertex community who are given the opportunity to buy ICO tokens with the VTEX token.
Buyers on the platform hold the reins and get to select which projects to invest in, hold the tokens of the ICO projects in which they choose to invest and manage the tokens going forward. Vertex plans to use its purchasing power to to give investors unprecedented access into an ICO at an attractive price.
ICO companies, meanwhile, must pursue an application process in which they submit documents such as a white paper to the Vertex team. The projects that pass a pre-selection process are then delivered to Vertex’s veteran ICO investor team comprised of private equity investors, advisors and team members”, after which time a deep analysis is performed.
The ERC20-based Vertex (VTEX) token is what investors use to purchase ICO tokens on the Vertex platform.
In addition to the ICO platform, Vertex also plans to launch a fund in Q2 2019 that will be dedicated to backing ICO projects. The fund is seemingly targeting wealthy individuals who are not clients of Vertex Captial.
Investors, ICO companies and the cryptocurrency community.
